Canadian Prime Minister warmly welcomes Syrian refugees

“Tonight they step off the plane as refugees, but walk out of this terminal as permanent residents of Canada with social insurance numbers, with health cards and with an opportunity to become full Canadians,” said Canadian Justin Trudeau as he welcomed the first batch of Syrian refugees arriving in Canada.

But what I found most heartwarming is what the Canadian kids have to say. “It’s a very nice place here. There is no war, and you can go to school safely. And WELCOME!” said one kid. Another said, “I want to be your best friend.” And another said, “I hope you might live near us.”

I couldn’t stop smiling as I watched the clip.

Looks like another country in North America is taking the place of USA as the shining beacon of hope. Canada, you rock!
