2015 is drawing to a close (at least here in Singapore at the moment of writing this). It is a good time to look back on the year that has gone by, learn and grow from the bad experiences, as well as give thanks for the many wonderful things that have happened.
Much has happened in 2015.
I finally plucked up the courage to start work on an idea that I’ve been toying around in my mind for a while. It’s a very scary process. And I’m convinced that I’m going about it in the dumbest of ways. If this takes off, I’ll write a book titled “Dumbest way to succeed” or something like that. Regardless, it’s been quite a fun and enriching process so far. I am really thankful for the many people who have been so kind and generous to give advice, encouragement, and help in various ways.
I also started this blog. I started it because I wanted to write about the General Election. Gradually, I ended up writing about anything that I felt strongly enough for. I also post random things that I think are funny, cute (cats!), useful (e.g. how to breathe), or interesting. I have had a few posts that garnered more views than I would have expected (particularly this one here). I hope that some of my posts have been helpful in some small ways and created a little bit of value for the people who have read them. I am thankful for everyone who has taken the time to read my posts, especially those who read my blog regularly.
And then there are those who have spent the effort to leave comments. Thank you so much for your comments. I may not always agree with your comments, but I am grateful that you are willing to take the time and effort to let me know your thoughts. Through this blog, I have “made” some new friends. And I look forward to engaging all the readers of my blog and getting to know you all better in 2016.
Through all of 2015, I am thankful for my close friends who have stood by me, supported me, believed in me even when I’ve stopped believing in myself. I am thankful to be able to share in the joy of their growth and achievements.
And so it is. We bid farewell to 2015. And we march into 2016. , perhaps with slight trepidation, but nevertheless hopeful. My New Year wish to everyone is something that I “derived” from one that my friend posted on his Facebook page:
May the dp/dt be with you come 2016. Integrate that well into your life and you will get a good momentum going. Apply that in the direction you want to go in and you will get your work done.
Thanks for being part of my 2015, and here’s wishing everyone a great 2016 ahead!
